I got 1200 tilapia from AneriCulture in Los Alanos, NM. on july 9, 2001
Every thang went ok for the first two months then the power went off and I lost about 100 fish before I fixed it now every thing is ok

I got some breeds from Mike Sipe in FL. on sept. 13, 2001 and put them in a 180 gal aquarium in my living room.
On Oct. 10, 2001 12 fish hatched and on Oct. 20, 2001 about 100more fish hatched!
So I built another 180 gal aquarium to keep them in until I harvest I have in the 3500 gal. tank in my greenhouse,

I use three plastic 55 gal. Drums as a pre filter to filter out the solids before Pump through the grow beds. A 2" siphon brings the water from the tank to the first drum which is filled with bird netting a second siphon goes from the first drum to the second drum which has a filter made from fiber cooler padding. A third siphon goes from the second drum to the third drum. In the Third drum are 3 pumps. One Rio 3100 pump that pumps 900 gal. Per. HR. Is used to get water to the grow beds. A second Rio 3100 pump returns the water to the tank through a fountainhead. The third pump is a beckett 535 gal. per. HR. Pump that also returns water to the tank. The pump in the drum have foam filters on them.

I also have a second Rio 3100 pump in the center of the tank with a fountainhead.
